AI PICKS applies the same rules to every listed tool and recalculates editorial scores daily. Here is what vendors can do without paying that is reflected in the score. We don't publish the detailed formula, weights or individual breakdowns. Correcting or adding information does not guarantee a higher score.
First: paid plans do not raise your score
Our editors' scores and ranking positions are never for sale. Every ad slot is labeled "PR" and shown separately from our editorial rankings.
Listing plans cover vendor verification, your own description, PR placements and similar features. They are not used in calculating editorial scores or rankings.
1. Accurate, complete public information
Editorial scores are recalculated every day from the information on your tool's page. Missing pricing or plan details leave us less to evaluate. Start by checking that what your official site says is reflected in your listing.
- Pricing model (free, freemium, paid) and what each plan costs and includes
- Where it runs (web, iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, API, browser extension and so on)
- Main features, and which users and tasks it suits
- Your official website URL
2. Make Japanese support and your company clear
AI PICKS is a comparison site for readers in Japan, so we consider whether a tool works in Japanese and whether it is built for Japan. The word "Japanese" in a description is not enough; we use evidence.
- Supported languages for the interface, output and customer support (is there a Japanese UI?)
- Whether there are Japan-facing information, pricing and a contact point (including operating-company details)
- Whether your official site has Japanese pages (our editors check the site itself)
3. Wider use and interest
Popularity and momentum come from how the tool is used in the world and growth in interest in Japan. None of these can be changed by a setting on your side; wider use is reflected over time. This is not a promise that your score will rise. We exclude unnatural signals, and may remove a listing if we confirm manipulation.
- Announce major feature or pricing changes on your official news or changelog page; our editors check and reflect them
- You're welcome to link to your AI PICKS page or display an editorial award badge (if your tool has earned one) on your site. Placing them is not itself part of the score
How to correct your listing (free)
Register as a vendor for free at vendor registration (the screens are in Japanese) and verify that you're the tool's vendor. You can then request corrections to pricing, features, your website URL and other facts from "Tool information" (ツール情報修正) in the dashboard. Our editors check them against your official site and apply them.
Not listed yet? Apply for a free listing from the free listing form (in Japanese).
To describe your strengths in your own words, the Basic plan lets you submit a description, logo and screenshots. They appear in a separate box on your tool page, clearly labeled as written by the vendor; they do not affect the editorial score. Plans and pricing
About user reviews
Any signed-in user can post a review from "Write a review" on a tool page. Reviews are shown as the page's user rating, separately from the editorial score. You may share your AI PICKS page with your users and invite them, voluntarily, to share their experience, as long as there are no rewards, no requested ratings and no pressure.
Under AI PICKS posting rules, we don't allow the following, and we hide reviews we find that break them:
- Asking for reviews in exchange for rewards, discounts, points or perks (even if you don't specify what to write)
- Asking for positive reviews only, or telling people what to write
- Employees, related parties or people acting on your request posting as users
FAQ
Q. Can you tell me the breakdown of my tool's score?
We don't share individual breakdowns. The quickest route is to check that the items on this page are correctly reflected in your listing, and to request corrections for anything that is wrong.
Q. When do changes show up?
Scores are recalculated every day. Corrections are reflected in the calculation after our editors check them and update the listing.
Q. Does advertising change my ranking?
No. Every ad slot is labeled "PR" and shown separately from our editorial rankings.
